Grease Travels Further Than You Think

Cooking releases aerosolized fat that settles well beyond the stove — on cabinet fronts across the room, the backsplash, and the tops of upper cabinets nobody inspects. Over months it hardens into a tacky layer that traps dust and resists general-purpose cleaner entirely.

The fix is chemistry and dwell time, not effort. We apply an alkaline degreaser and let it break the fat down before wiping. Wood and painted cabinet finishes get a gentler dilution and immediate drying, since prolonged alkaline contact damages both.

This scope also covers what a standard visit deliberately excludes: the oven interior with racks, door glass and seals, the refrigerator interior shelf by shelf, and the range hood filter — the heaviest grease load in the room and the most commonly skipped surface in routine cleaning.

What's Included

The full task-level checklist for this service — every detail covered, every time.

Airborne Grease Film Removal

Cooking releases aerosolized fat that travels well beyond the stove and settles on every surface in the room, including cabinet fronts across the kitchen and the tops of upper cabinets nobody inspects. Over months it hardens into a tacky layer that traps dust and resists general-purpose cleaner entirely. We apply an alkaline degreaser and let it dwell so the fat breaks down chemically, then wipe — the dwell is what does the work. Wood and painted cabinet finishes get a gentler dilution and immediate drying, since prolonged alkaline contact damages both.

Range Hood and Filter Service

The hood filter carries the heaviest grease load in the kitchen and is the single most-skipped surface in routine cleaning. Metal mesh filters are removed and degreased so airflow is genuinely restored rather than the visible face merely wiped. The hood exterior, underside, and the wall behind it get the same treatment, since aerosolized fat concentrates in exactly that zone. A saturated filter both performs poorly and is a real fire consideration, which is why it is part of the base scope here rather than an add-on.

Oven and Refrigerator Interiors

These are excluded from a standard clean and included here. The oven interior is treated to break down carbonized spill, with racks, door glass, and the door seal addressed separately — seals hold residue that transfers back onto everything and are commonly ignored. The refrigerator interior is emptied shelf by shelf, with shelves and drawers cleaned, the door gasket wiped along its folds, and spills lifted rather than smeared. Both are then dried so no cleaning residue is left where food will sit.

Behind and Beneath Detail

Small appliances are lifted and the counter beneath them cleaned rather than wiped around, which is where crumbs and sticky residue collect out of sight. The sink drain and disposal collar are cleaned, the faucet descaled — Southeast Michigan's hard water leaves mineral deposits on kitchen fixtures the same as bathroom ones — and the toe-kick edge beneath the cabinets is reached, since floor debris packs into that gap and never surfaces during a routine mop.

We tell you up front — these belong to a different service, not a surprise upcharge.

How long it takes

1.5 to 3 hours depending on grease load and whether appliance interiors are included (roughly 1.5 hours for a maintained kitchen without interiors; 3+ hours with a heavy hood filter, oven, and refrigerator)

What it costs

Kitchen Cleaning is delivered as part of a Deep Clean with the kitchen as the priority zone rather than sold as a standalone per-room line item, so pricing follows our deep-clean tiers: $250 for a home under 1,000 sq ft, $349 for 1,000–1,249 sq ft, and $354 to $359 through 1,799 sq ft. That covers the kitchen at this depth including oven and refrigerator interiors, plus the rest of the home. If your kitchen only needs routine upkeep — counters, stovetop, appliance exteriors, sink and floors — that is already part of every Standard Clean from $136. Grease load rather than square footage drives the time, so we ask how often you cook and whether interiors are included before confirming.

How It Works

Simple, transparent, and hassle-free.

1

Tell us how the kitchen is used

Share how often you cook, whether the oven and refrigerator interiors are included, and what has built up — hood filter, cabinet film, backsplash. Photos help. Cooking frequency predicts the degreasing work far better than kitchen size does, and it is what keeps the quote accurate.

2

Degreaser applied and left to dwell

Degreaser goes onto the hood, filter, stovetop, backsplash, and cabinet fronts first and is left to break the grease down chemically. Oven treatment is applied at the same time since it needs the longest dwell of anything in the room. While those work, we clean the surfaces that need no dwell so nothing is idle.

3

Agitate, wipe, and clear interiors

Treated surfaces are agitated and wiped with the pad appropriate to each finish, cabinets are dried immediately, and the hood filter is scrubbed and reseated. Oven and refrigerator interiors are cleaned out and dried. Small appliances come up so the counter beneath is reached, and the sink and faucet are finished last.

4

Floors last, then inspect

Floors are swept including the toe-kick gap, then mopped, working toward the exit so nothing cleaned gets crossed again. We check cabinet fronts and stainless under angled light, where remaining film shows most clearly, and touch up anything that reappears as surfaces dry.

What Sets Our Service Apart?

Appliance Interiors Included

Oven interior with racks, door glass and seals; refrigerator cleaned shelf by shelf with the door gasket wiped along its folds. Both are excluded from a standard clean because they need dedicated dwell time — here they are part of the scope.

Hood Filter Actually Degreased

Metal mesh filters come out and are degreased so airflow is genuinely restored, not just the visible face wiped. A saturated filter vents poorly and is a real fire consideration, which is why it is base scope rather than an add-on.

Finish-Safe Degreasing

Pad and dilution are matched to each surface. Wood and painted cabinets get a gentler mix and immediate drying; stainless is finished with the grain. We check under angled light, where remaining film shows most clearly.
